What does an AI text cleaner do?
An AI text cleaner removes the formatting leftovers that come along when you copy an answer out of ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Copilot. Chat tools write in Markdown, so pasted text often arrives with **asterisks** around bold words, # signs before headings and backticks around code. How do I remove the asterisks and hash symbols from ChatGPT text?
Paste the text into the cleaner with the Markdown option on. It removes the ** and * around bold and italic words, the # in front of headings, backticks around code and other Markdown symbols, and leaves the words themselves unchanged.
Why does AI text contain so many em dashes?
Language models learned from edited prose where the em dash is common, and they use it far more often than most people do when typing. The cleaner replaces each em dash with a comma or a spaced hyphen, whichever you choose.
What are hidden characters in AI-generated text?
They are Unicode characters that take up no visible space, such as the zero-width space, the byte order mark and the soft hyphen, plus look-alike spaces such as the non-breaking space. They can break search, word counts, code and form validation after you paste.
Does this tool make text undetectable by AI detectors?
No. It only normalises formatting and punctuation. AI detectors analyse wording and sentence patterns, so cleaning characters does not change their result and this tool does not claim to.
Will it break text in Hindi, Arabic or other languages?
No. Zero-width joiners that are part of correct spelling in Indic and Arabic scripts are kept, and so are the joiners inside emoji. Only stray invisible characters next to plain Latin text are removed.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. All cleaning happens in your browser. Nothing you paste is sent to a server or stored.
