Guide & Explanations

How to use

To calculate your break-even point, follow these steps:

  1. Enter your fixed costs: These are costs that don't change regardless of production volume (rent, salaries, insurance, etc.)
  2. Enter variable cost per unit: The cost to produce each additional unit of your product or service
  3. Enter selling price per unit: The price at which you sell each unit of your product or service
  4. Optional - Enter target profit: If you have a profit goal, enter it to calculate how many units you need to sell to reach that profit
  5. Click Calculate to see your break-even point and revenue analysis

Pro Tips:

  • Use the table to see how changes in sales volume affect your profit/loss
  • The higher your contribution margin, the faster you'll reach your break-even point
  • To lower your break-even point, either reduce fixed costs, reduce variable costs, or increase your selling price
